The qualified candidate must be capable of establishing and driving relevant technical projects related to new formulated specialty additives (i.e., wetting agents, defoamers, and dispersants) that provide differentiated performance in Coatings, Graphic Arts, Adhesives or Industrial Specialties such as Concrete, Mortars, or other cementitious systems. The candidate will be expected to communicate regularly and maintain a close working relationship with customers, external collaborators and technical and business colleagues (applications research/development/technical service chemists, process engineers, regional and global marketing and sales people).
The successful candidate will serve as the technical lead for gated development projects, following established work processes. He or she will be expected to give oral presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences within the company and at customer sites. Timely pursuance of intellectual property protection, including filing of patent applications, writing public disclosures, and documenting results and project progress, will also be required. The candidate must have a strong commitment to safety, health and environmental leadership.
This position requires a PhD in chemistry, materials science or chemical engineering and preferably at least 2 years of industrial experience. The ability to get up to speed quickly in new fields, make significant contributions within a short period of time, and function well in a team environment is a must. Travel to visit customers within North and South America is expected.

Quality is a critical function in the Electronics business. Our customers expect a high level of quality across all of our products. In this context “quality” refers to (1) precise measurement of product content and variation relative to customers specifications; (2) Quality Systems including certifications, policies, procedures, documentation, management of change, and related roles and responsibilities; and (3) Quality Management including: oversight, communications, response to complaints/non conformances, containment plans, root cause analysis and resolution. Take part in activities associated with Supplier Management to assure that systems are in place to provide the meeting of expectations on incoming materials. As such, this function represents a critical aspect to our business success. Presently, the Quality function is carried out in multiple departments of the Division and within country teams in Asia. This position will be responsible for the direct overall management of Quality in Electronics.
Electronics businesses are truly global and our customers represent a broad range of cultures in Asia, North America and Europe. Dealing with quality issues across all geographies requires an individual who can effectively represent Air Products in what are often highly contentious customer meetings in a cross cultural setting. Further, this position requires an individual who can deal with the full range of quality issues across the very broad product line in Electronics (tonnage, bulks, specialty gas, strippers and cleans, high purity process chemicals, equipment and on-site services). An essential aspect of this position is the development and guidance to Quality professionals in the Division to provide for consistent performance across the Division. Further, this position will need to be able to work effectively with GO, GEO and Supply Chain organizations to effectively manage the Quality function. Additionally, this function has to work across roughly 20 different manufacturing sites globally.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Form, develop and lead an integrated Electronics Quality team bringing together product line, country, and manufacturing teams creating a consistent voice to customers and the Electronics Leadership Team.
2. Elevate and sponsor quality and customer satisfaction on the Division’s agenda: be a senior level champion of the customer and quality. Drive a customer/quality centric culture through the organization.
3. Lead across products, countries, and functions to drive customer and quality issues.
4. Develop and manage globally consistent quality systems to meet customer expectations, maintain certifications, and build customer loyalty.
5. Manage customer audits, customer specifications, and drive programs to align with and perform against our strategic customer’s quality programs.
6. Continuously improve customer complaint performance (time to close/resolve). Drive to a single method to close complaints and provide a consistent voice to customers.
7. Represent Air Products in front of customers and mirror AP’s values and commitment.
8. Integrate quality and CI tools to quickly resolve issues/root causes in a cost effect way.
9. Create business value by driving new offerings (in control, low-cost/low spec), securing customer loyalty, and implementing cost effective solutions.
10. Leverage SAP capabilities in quality management and cost leadership.
11. As a member of the Senior Electronics Leadership Team guide the team to resolve customer/quality issues requiring their attention. Share satisfaction issues and successes.
12. Participate in broader Air Products quality management initiatives to further quality and customer focus in Air Products.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
At least ten years of semiconductor manufacturing and/or quality management experience, each combined with customer engagement experience is required. The incumbent will possess a technical education at the BS level as a minimum. An advanced technical degree would be desirable. International/cross cultural work experience is highly desirable. Proficiency in a second language is desirable. The incumbent needs to possess strong interpersonal skills and emotional balance to represent Air Products in front of the customer and manage globally.

Description
The Process Safety Engineer position within the Electronics and Performance Materials PST (Product Supply Team)reports directly to the Process Technology Lead and functionally to the Director, Global Process safety & Risk Management. This position is responsible for supporting the process safety requirements within the PST including capital projects (manufacturing plants and FAB installations), product line programs, operation programs, and global process safety functional improvement activities.
The process safety activities include: performing hazard reviews (project specific, generic, or operating plant), participating in Operating Readiness Inspections, performing qualitative calculations and consequence analysis (project specific or generic), coordinating in-plant and third-party Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA), performing equipment/facility design and siting reviews, participating in Security Vulnerability Analysis as required, and supporting global process safety (training, tools, work process, process safety standards) improvement programs. The PST provides support on a global basis; domestic and international travel of apx. 10 to 15% can be expected.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have 8-15 years of foundational experience in disciplines such as process engineering, process systems, process controls, plant and reliability engineering. Previous process safety experience in related industries is very desirable. Industrial Gas industry experience or FAB equipment experience is also a plus. Working knowledge of various industry standards is desirable. The position requires a BS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering (Chemical Engineering is desirable); advanced degree a plus. The successful candidate will go through appropriate Process Safety training to effectively execute these responsibilities. The position offers an excellent opportunity to build on the specific foundational skills the incumbent may have. It also provides the opportunity to take a leadership role in facilitating the execution of our key process safety requirements. This position is responsible for weekly pay generation and delivery for the U.S. employee population. Additional duties include remittance of payroll taxes and union dues, payroll account funding and reconciliation, periodic reporting to taxing authorities, preparing wire transfers using bank software, SAP HR master data maintenance related to payroll, resolving pay generation issues, and tier 2 support for Payroll inquiries. This position is a member of the Payroll Team located in Allentown. Interaction with personnel across the Air Products organization and external vendors is required on a regular basis.
This position requires a modified schedule on payroll processing days (Monday and/or Thursday). The incumbent must be able to adjust their work hours weekly to accommodate the payroll processing schedule including accelerated paydates. In addition, quarterly and annual requirements will require the individual to work overtime.

Job Description and Qualifications Air Products' Express Services (APEX) team provides short-term nitrogen and hydrogen supply to a wide variety of customers, primarily in the refining industries. This is a growing services offering in a mature marketplace, supporting customers such as Chevron, ExxonMobil, and Boeing. The Regional Manager will support all aspects of the day-to-day operation, including supervision and equipment maintenance, will gain technical proficiency in APEX applications, and build strong customer relationships in support of our commercial goals.
This key position will manage sixteen direct reports at four field service locations, and will be responsible for successful project execution (magnitude of projects may exceed $5 million). Additionally, the manager will directly support technical initiatives such as equipment repair and refurbishment, safety evaluations, and value-added technical applications. The ideal candidate will have a background in the management of hourly employees, comprehensive technical ability, and excellent customer interface skills.
Candidates for the site supervisor position will be evaluated on the basis of:
- Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
- A track record of success with Safety, Environmental, Quality and Employee Involvement.
- Experience in management of non-exempt employees, although strong candidates lacking this experience may be considered.
- Operations management experience, focused on controlling costs and delivering customer satisfaction.
