The incumbent will be part of a Plant Process Efficiency Engineering Team in the Global Operations Asset Management Engineering - Electronics Materials Organization providing operations process and productivity support for the Hometown, Pennsylvania Electronics Materials assets.

The responsibilities of this position include:
- Provide support for developing and driving productivity improvement projects.
- Identify, develop and design improved operating and control strategies to achieve productivity targets.
- Provide process-related support for plant operations, process safety, troubleshooting, efficiency, reliability and product supply.
- Provide plant support for OPHR and eMOC activities.
- Develop and maintain productive working relationships with all key Operations personnel (production engineers, supervisors, plant engineering, technical and maintenance, superintendents) and support/facilitate implementation of asset management projects within those areas.
- Provide process-engineering consultation to the site’s Production organization, to help resolve process bottlenecks and resolve long-standing problems.
- Network with resources within and outside of ESM to enlist best practice solutions, best fit technology or explore/evaluate alternative methods to improve productivity.

Qualifications and Experience:
- B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering
- Three (3) or more years experience in either Operations or Engineering in a technical support or design role.

Beneficial Experience/Skills:
- Process Engineering skills with a background and job experience in unit operations involving reaction, distillation, adsorption, absorption, process control and automation.
- Operations/Manufacturing experience or having provided support of plant optimization and productivity programs.
- Able to work effectively in a plant operations environment, interacting with operators and site personnel, plant engineers, supervisors and managers.
- Motivated, results-oriented individual to drive improvements.

The successful candidate will join the process controls team in the execution of projects for the ASU PST.

Project related responsibilities include: participation in P&ID development, Hazops and safety assessments/verifications; specification of instrumentation hardware, analyzers and valves as well as the design, configuration and commissioning of the Process Automation System(PAS) and Programmable Electronic Safety System (PES). Dependent on prior experience, the role can involve the project level supervision and workload planning of other engineers working on the project as well as the reporting and forecasting of project performance. Commissioning, validation and start up of the control system is also an important part of the job.

The successful candidate will be expected to possess a Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical or Control Systems Engineering. He or she should be able to demonstrate a firm understanding and have a proven track record in leading the design and implementation of control and information systems for process plants. It is therefore expected that the candidate will possess a minimum of 10 years of experience working in an engineering design or operating organization in the process industries.

The successful candidate is expected to be self motivated, with good interpersonal and communication skills enabling them to work well within the multidiscipline design team and to effectively liaise with suppliers and clients.

The Machinery Engineer is responsible for the overview as well as detail design of the new machinery used in projects. Compressors are sized anywhere from 500HP to 10,000HP, and are predominantly centrifugal and reciprocating compressors. Fluids include air, nitrogen, oxygen, hydrogen, CO, syngas, as well as some specialty gases for the electronics industry. The review of support equipment will also be part of the responsibility, including cryogenic pumps, boiler feedwater pumps, general service pumps, and filtration.

The Machinery Engineer is expected to communicate regularly and effectively with suppliers on a global basis. Responsibilities include working with other disciplines to optimize the machinery fit into a plant. This includes working with matrix teams of Process, Mechanical/Piping Systems, Flowsheets, and Electrical Engineering.

The person must have good teamwork skills, good analytic skills, and be able to react to time requirements. The ability to travel globally is a requirement.

Gas turbine and co-generation optimization experience is a plus.
