The responsibilities of this position include:
- Provide support for developing and driving productivity improvement projects.

- Provide plant support for OPHR and eMOC activities.

- Provide process-engineering consultation to the site’s Production organization, to help resolve process bottlenecks and resolve long-standing problems.
- Network with resources within and outside of ESM to enlist best practice solutions, best fit technology or explore/evaluate alternative methods to improve productivity.
Qualifications and Experience:
- B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering
- Three (3) or more years experience in either Operations or Engineering in a technical support or design role.
Beneficial Experience/Skills:
- Process Engineering skills with a background and job experience in unit operations involving reaction, distillation, adsorption, absorption, process control and automation.
- Operations/Manufacturing experience or having provided support of plant optimization and productivity programs.

The Career Development Program (CDP) is designed for entry-level IT specialists (0-2 years of experience) joining Air Products. This position involves working closely with our outside trailer rehabilitation vendors and maintenance shops to improve the overall condition of our liquid trailer fleet. This includes monitoring of the vendors for quality assurance, cost containment and adherence to Air Products requirements. In addition, develop a cost study on life cycle of unit and determine a replacement strategy program. Work with the Fleet Engineer on new trailer design to determine the best path forward for new equipment into the fleet; this includes inspection during the manufacturing of new trailers.
This position reports to the Fleet Maintenance Manager and works directly with the Fleet Support Trailer Coordinator, Fleet Maintenance Specialist (Power), Fleet Engineer, Warranty Coordinator and Fleet Maintenance Support Specialists.
The GO Fleet Management Group is responsible for planning, organizing, training, and controlling the selection, purchase, administration, and maintenance of vehicles and shop equipment in the United States and Canada to provide safe and cost efficient transportation for company products.
Principal Accountabilities:
1. Administer the trailer rehab process for atmospheric and LHY trailers.
2. Assist in reducing trailer maintenance costs and improve reliability and performance - by providing technical advice and providing recommendations on trailer specifications (new and rehab).
3. Develop and implement a replacement program for all liquid trailers. This will be achieved by a cost study to determine replacement strategy.
4. Develop, document and administer an Air Products requirements task list for all vendors for quality assurance.
5. Assist in documenting trailer Maintenance Information Letters (MIL’s) for distribution to maintenance team.
6. Work with the Fleet Op’s team to put a plan in place to change the current rehab process from a reactive to a proactive program.
7. Work with the current rehab website owner to update site, including fixed cost, screen layout, and report designs. Develop a training document for the website that can be used by terminal personal and vendors for process of updating site.
8. Travel to vendors and AP maintenance sites as required to assure compliance and increase knowledge of process. 30% Travel is required in this position but may be increased during training period or heavy rehab demand.
9. Monitor rehab/major repair authorization to ensure correct pricing, prevention of overcharges, or unnecessary work, identification of warranty information for manufacturer’s assistance in failure analysis.
10. Improve the effectiveness of the work team by sharing knowledge learned and assist others in making recommendations to improve processes.
11. Coordinate with the Fleet Engineer on new trailer inspections at vendors during the build process. This is to assure quality before units leave the vendor.
12. Continuously improve the rehab process to reduce overall maintenance costs.
13. Work with the Fleet Support Coordinator Trailer to understand billing and project costs allocation to help improve the rehab decision making process.
14. Share knowledge with the Fleet Operations team to that may improve the bulk trailer retest program.
Qualifications/Requirements:
10+ years of fleet maintenance experience involving cryogenic vehicles. A self-starter with very strong teamwork, communication and organization skills. Proficient computer skills and use of Microsoft applications and SAP. A passion for continuous improvement. Strong troubleshooting skills. Ability to work closely with the terminal vehicle maintenance, logistics, and members of the Fleet Operations team.

Job content includes motor starting calculations, short circuit calculations, arc flash and protective relay coordination, and equipment specification and recommendations including motors, transformers, switchgear, motor control centers, and other electrical distribution equipment. Circuit knowledge and review are key components in successfully meeting the position requirements.
Candidate is expected to communicate regularly and effectively with internal customers/design groups as well as suppliers on a global basis. Job Description and Qualifications Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, has immediate openings for Project Development Engineers at our Corporate Headquarters in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
• Estimate: Estimate correctly the best value proposition (capital and total evaluated) necessary to win and maximize profit consistent with commercial objectives.
• Lead: Lead the bid process by organizing, conducting and documenting initial bid evaluations to determine resources required and setting the general direction of the proposal work. Prioritizes the bid team’s work.
• Scope: Unearth all relevant scope definition, value improve to find the best technical / economic solution. Work directly with customers and partners to determine scope splits.
• Risks: Identify / evaluate risks (execution, scope, technical, cost and operating risks).
• Follow requirements: Follow Build (PDEP+) work process; comply with Engineering Procedures, work instructions, specs and standards including documenting, organizing and conducting estimate review and approval meetings.
• Help Sell: Help sell the offer by exceeding customer expectations including writing and reviewing proposals, representing Air Products' technical capabilities, responding to follow up questions from customers, visits and added value / differentiating from competition
• Commercial: Provide commercial interface role such as setting sales / pricing strategy, understanding the market / competitiveness, providing other deliverables (payment schedules) helping set project execution strategy, manage SE budgets, soliciting and analyzing lost order reports.
• Document: Correctly document the work and continuously improve including collecting feedback from ongoing projects to obtain cost and other project performance factors, to optimize and improve the accuracy of future estimates.
• Support: Provide support for products and provide check / balance with project engineering in decision making.
Project Development Engineers will be exposed to virtually all functions within the Global Engineering Organization such as Project, Construction, Design, Process, Systems, Process Controls, Machinery as well as many corporate functions such as Tax, Finance, Procurement, Logistics, Controllership / Accounting.
PDEs will very likely work with outside engineering and contracting firms and/or joint venture owners and partners. The ability to manage and interact with these entities will be required.
The business is global in nature and may require travel to China, southeast Asia, Europe, Canada or other US domestic locations.
Job Requirements:
• BS ChE / ME or 5 plus years of project development experience / background
• Analytical and computer skills
• Ability to lead multifunctional teams as well as ability to promote teamwork and cooperation
