Job Description and Qualifications Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, has an opening for Product Engineer for Electronics/Performance Materials at our Corporate Headquarters in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

This role provides day to day leadership of the Electronics Bulk Gas and Specialty Material Equipment Product Lines and is responsible to provide all engineering support for the products.

Activities include:
• Processing global order requests for UHP product line equipment including identifying the best solution to meet the request. A low percentage of these could require development of new options.
• Preparation of packages which are sent to the fabricator for quotations
• Provide engineering support to fabricators and operations on installed equipment base.
• Manage all product line documentation, including standards, specifications, and manuals.
• Development and integrate new products into portfolio.
• Communications between commercial, order requester and the fabricator. Additionally, periodic evaluation and possible implementation of alternate fabricators to lower costs.
• Preparation of quotations and project budgets
• Managing/tracking project budgets to within +/- 2%
• Managing/tracking shipment schedules to meet or exceed a matrix of >85% on time including implementation of continuous improvement activities to improve this metric year on year.
• Develop cost/benefit analysis and prepare funding requests for Bulk Gas Development and ESM products.
• Leading or participating in funded development projects which must be completed within the fiscal year.
• Managing/tracking development budgets to within +/- 5%
• Leading and coordination of activities between functional groups (e.g. Mechanical Design, Process Controls, Process. Etc.) when their support is needed for ETO products or product line changes.
• Specifying third party (SAES, Arranges, Johnson Mathey, etc.) purifiers as required
• Participate in related product line MOC meetings
• Participate in hazard and reliability reviews as required.
• Product Development team lead.

Qualifications/Skills:
• BS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferred
• Experience in some or all of the following areas is highly preferred -- Product Engineering; Project Engineering, Electronics Equipment.
• Experience in product based approach and ODI (Stage Gate) process a plus
• Knowledge of HAZOPs, UltraFlo, CAPP, and Stac 5 preferred
• Experience with Apollo Root Cause failure analysis methods a plus.
