This position is primarily responsible for supply management activities supporting the Performance Materials Division (PMD). As such, the incumbent is charged with developing, negotiating, and maintaining competitively advantageous supply arrangements as with a key focus on cost savings and security of supply. The incumbent is also responsible for identifying new sources of supply from emerging markets for PMD global operations.

The incumbent is expected to:
• Develop in-depth commercial and technical knowledge of the materials and categories supported. This includes a detailed understanding of the associated supply, process and value chains.
• Understand current global market conditions and to develop strategies to meet current and future market needs.
• Lead the development of regional & global supply strategies within strong multi-functional teams (manufacturing, technology, and business areas.
• Develop and manage key supplier relationships to ensure alignment with business strategies
• Challenge the status quo to create unique and lower “total cost of supply” sourcing options and processes.

Within the sourcing category of their responsibility:
1. Execute the source process by developing, negotiating, implementing, and sustaining supply contracts consistent with business requirements.
2. Achieve targeted cost savings and supply arrangements.
3. Monitor, communicate, and respond to changing market conditions and business drivers on a global basis to maximize leverage and minimize risk.
4. Lead cross-functional teams to qualify new suppliers or materials with a focus on non-traditional and low cost country sourcing.
5. Work closely with supported commercial functions, supply chain and global manufacturing locations to ensure security and effective total cost of supply.
6. Develop business relationships within both Air Products and supplier organizations to support long-term growth plans.
7. Manage supplier performance and maintain interface with supplier’s organization.
8. Bring innovative supplier solutions (i.e. electronic commerce, utilization of by-product streams, etc.) to maximize value and minimize the total cost of supply.
9. Collaborate with other members of the global sourcing team.

Ideally, the incumbent should have a technical educational (BS) background and at least 10 years of sales, purchasing and/or commercially oriented business experience dealing with complex negotiations and knowledge of the chemical industry. Both an MBA and/or international business exposure are a plus.

This position is primarily responsible for laboratory testing, operation, development and improvement of electronics IC assembly, using different gas chemistry. Some travel in support of customer trials and external partnering will be required.

A successful candidate will be knowledgeable of EPAT furnace equipment and high temperature processes, have a high degree of hands-on practical equipment experience and interest, with project execution skills.

The incumbent must be an experienced and innovative researcher with strong engineering and communication skills (written & verbal). Position requires an advanced degree in Engineering or Materials Science with at least 5 years experience working in R&D laboratory environment. Knowledge of polymers used in IC packages and PCBs, working knowledge of reflow furnace and wave soldering equipment, knowledge of current interconnect technology (wire bonding) and advanced packaging technology (flip chip and 3D interconnects) is desirable.

This position will support the operation of the Large Combustion Lab in the R&D#2 building. The technician will work with a cross-functional research team developing industry applications for oxygen enhanced combustion. Job responsibilities include constructing, modifying, and maintaining combustion equipment including burner installation, test setup and operation, and data acquisition. In addition, the technician will have ownership of laboratory furnace, flow controls, gas supply systems, and other laboratory equipment.

Qualifications / Skills:

7 - 15 years industrial experience required and a technical degree is a plus. Candidate must have experience in mechanical design and must have demonstrated ability to build equipment from a basic design. Familiarity with process analyzers and PLC systems desired. Candidate must be capable of managing and safely running a laboratory with multiple projects. Candidate must have a strong awareness of and a good track record in safety. Candidate must be able to conduct experiments and compile results. Candidate will be required to maintain a notebook and other documentation of experimental work. Candidate must function well in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
