This position provides the necessary support to coordinate, facilitate, and direct the short and long term turnaround planning, scheduling and field execution efforts, to ensure that turnaround services are consistently delivered and executed in an efficient, safe and cost-effective manner in support of the strategic initiatives of the global maintenance organization.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

1. Develop safety plans for all outage work to be carried out and insure its execution.

7. Responsible for monitoring and reporting of safety, cost, key work highlights, schedule progress, and efficiency of work performed during turnarounds.
8. Responsible for minimizing total cost by maximizing manpower capabilities and promoting continuous improvement.
9. Responsible for maintaining records and historical data of repairs and frequency within the computerized maintenance system.
10. Responsible for ensuring that maintenance best practices & procedures are consistently applied and followed in order to maintain the highest quality on repairs and replacements.
11. Ensures that Management Of Change requirements (MOC’s ) are in place for all activities & that any changes, modifications or upgrades are documented and approved prior to implementation.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

The successful candidate must be a self-starter with a solid work history and excellent references along with the ability to work in a team oriented environment.

Education: High school diploma with preferred relative technical school or college degree. Relative experience will be given strong consideration in lieu of formal education.

Experience: Five (5) plus years in the petrochemical and manufacturing industry with strong technical background and experience in electrical, instrumentation or mechanical craft activities. Prior multi-discipline planning experience required.

• Work with the GSS Team Leads, GEO Technology Managers, Process Engineering Team Leads, the appropriate Business asset managers to drive many of the best practices and productivity into the product line.
• Provide support to resolving other system systemic issues. To work on other issues off-line in identifying system wide systemic problems and engineering solutions. The engineer would also manage the implementation of these fixes.

The successful candidate should be versed in ABB Bailey and APACS control systems, and fully engaged in the Safety program. He/she should have good communication skills and work well in an collaborative environment. This position places a premium of organizational and documentation skills. The successful candidate shall be self motivated and capable of being self directed. A BS in one of the major engineering fields is required, with at least eight years of experience preferable.

Job Description and Qualifications Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, has an immediate opening for a GO Tech Support Specialist-Trailer Rehab(North America) to be based at our Corporate Headquarters in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

This position involves working closely with our outside trailer rehabilitation vendors and maintenance shops to improve the overall condition of our liquid trailer fleet. This includes monitoring of the vendors for quality assurance, cost containment and adherence to Air Products requirements. In addition, develop a cost study on life cycle of unit and determine a replacement strategy program. Work with the Fleet Engineer on new trailer design to determine the best path forward for new equipment into the fleet; this includes inspection during the manufacturing of new trailers.

This position reports to the Fleet Maintenance Manager and works directly with the Fleet Support Trailer Coordinator, Fleet Maintenance Specialist (Power), Fleet Engineer, Warranty Coordinator and Fleet Maintenance Support Specialists.

The GO Fleet Management Group is responsible for planning, organizing, training, and controlling the selection, purchase, administration, and maintenance of vehicles and shop equipment in the United States and Canada to provide safe and cost efficient transportation for company products.


Principal Accountabilities:

1. Administer the trailer rehab process for atmospheric and LHY trailers.

2. Assist in reducing trailer maintenance costs and improve reliability and performance - by providing technical advice and providing recommendations on trailer specifications (new and rehab).
3. Develop and implement a replacement program for all liquid trailers. This will be achieved by a cost study to determine replacement strategy.
4. Develop, document and administer an Air Products requirements task list for all vendors for quality assurance.
5. Assist in documenting trailer Maintenance Information Letters (MIL’s) for distribution to maintenance team.
6. Work with the Fleet Op’s team to put a plan in place to change the current rehab process from a reactive to a proactive program.
7. Work with the current rehab website owner to update site, including fixed cost, screen layout, and report designs. Develop a training document for the website that can be used by terminal personal and vendors for process of updating site.
8. Travel to vendors and AP maintenance sites as required to assure compliance and increase knowledge of process. 30% Travel is required in this position but may be increased during training period or heavy rehab demand.
9. Monitor rehab/major repair authorization to ensure correct pricing, prevention of overcharges, or unnecessary work, identification of warranty information for manufacturer’s assistance in failure analysis.
10. Improve the effectiveness of the work team by sharing knowledge learned and assist others in making recommendations to improve processes.
11. Coordinate with the Fleet Engineer on new trailer inspections at vendors during the build process. This is to assure quality before units leave the vendor.
12. Continuously improve the rehab process to reduce overall maintenance costs.
13. Work with the Fleet Support Coordinator Trailer to understand billing and project costs allocation to help improve the rehab decision making process.
14. Share knowledge with the Fleet Operations team to that may improve the bulk trailer retest program.

Qualifications/Requirements:

10+ years of fleet maintenance experience involving cryogenic vehicles. A self-starter with very strong teamwork, communication and organization skills. Proficient computer skills and use of Microsoft applications and SAP. A passion for continuous improvement. Strong troubleshooting skills. Ability to work closely with the terminal vehicle maintenance, logistics, and members of the Fleet Operations team.

•* Mounting Details: The ability to develop detailed installation drawings for mounting and installing instruments including developing a comprehensive bill of material for all of the components required for the individual installations.
•* Control Panel: The knowledge and understanding of all applicable APCI standards pertaining to wiring, fabrication, painting, AC control devices and instrumentation contained in control panels. •* Chemical Plant Design: The ability to design instrument location drawings and hookups as described in the "Physicals/hookups" section in corrosive, liquid and condensable gas services. The knowledge of all special chemical standards and safety requirements. The basic understanding of chemical plant instrumentation.
•* Hazardous Plant Design: The ability to design instrument location drawings and hookups as described in the "Physicals/Hookups" section in Hazardous and Classified areas. Knowledge of the NFPA 496 code is required for purging requirements. Requirements for control panel/analyzer panel electrical devices in these areas.

In addition to providing Maintenance Leadership, this position is jointly responsible with Plant & Line Management for the development, administration and control of the Maintenance routine expense and major maintenance budgets across the Region. Incumbent is responsible for maintaining a continuous review of costs and for review and approval of all Major Maintenance funds.

B.S. degree in an engineering discipline, preferred, but not required. Minimum of 10+ years in maintenance, engineering and/or operations management roles is desired - up to 50% travel.

This is a ladder position and assignments can be configured to match the background of the successful candidate. Performance Materials has identified more than $25MM/yr in potential productivity improvements that require Chemical and Industrial Engineering expertise. The work is widely varied and flexibility to and by candidates is a must.

The successful candidate will perform Plant Process Engineering and productivity improvement for the Performance Materials Growth Platform Division (PMGP). This position will support various work for the 11 PMGP facilities or ongoing acquisitions. Key PMGP technologies include epoxies, polyurethane chemicals, ethoxylations, acetylenics, and specialty amines. Periods of travel (including possible international travel) are required averaging as much as one week per month or if mutually agreed more than one week per month.

The position will report to the Plant Process Engineering organization that has consistently delivered more than $20MM/yr in productivity benefits to the fast growing and highly profitable Performance Materials Growth Platform.

Primary responsibilities of the position may include:

1. Identify productivity improvement opportunities. Areas of emphasis include: manufacturing cost reduction, capacity improvements/cycle time reductions, supply chain flow and cost improvement, waste handling and reduction, raw materials, utilities consumption/cost/supply and production process reliability.

2. Conduct process engineering evaluation of production unit operations and facility utilities, screen options, investigate and identify process bottlenecks and constraints, map system capability and rank solutions with necessary cost-benefit analyses.

3. Identify, develop and design improved operating and control strategies to achieve productivity targets. Develop tracking programs and metrics for plant optimization and efficiency, and monitor the targets against budget/expected performance.

4. Analyze plant performance and work with the operations and supply chain team to ensure the plant operates optimally. Develop and install systems that ensure plant operators and line management understand the optimal run-point for each process to achieve efficiency targets.

5. Develop project scope, estimate project cost and benefits, develop capital expenditure authorization documents and propose appropriate execution strategy for best fit with resources and benefits case. Execute productivity projects with small Global Operations teams.

6. Work with the facility operations staff and line management to identify, communicate and transfer best operating facility practices. Use idea generation methods , engage the operations team in opportunity identifications and screen opportunities for implementation. Support and execute Global Operations plant productivity assessments.

7. Provide support for the facility process safety activities through implementation of management of change associated with asset management projects , operating plant hazard review revalidation, execution of project hazards reviews, completing ophr action items, and support of environmental permitting.

8. Provide process-engineering consultation and support to the site’s Production organization to help troubleshoot and resolve process operating problems. Assist operations to resolve product quality, reliability and operability issues.

9. Use Lean and/or Continuous Improvement methods to facilitate improvements.


Minimum Qualifications:

B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
3 or more years of process engineering or chemical plant engineering experience.

Beneficial Experience/Skills:
Knowledge of chemical operations, preferably chemical engineering aplications involving batch operations including reaction, distillation, solids handling, heat exchange, utilities, process control and automation is a plus.
Alternatively, knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques in packaged chemical production operations (i.e., Industrial Engineering applications to batch Chemical Plants)
Able to work in a hands-on environment in an operating plant.
Able to work in groups, interacting with commercial people, plant operators , maintenance, production engineers, plant supervision and line management
Prior experience conducting process plant optimization.
Prior experience working in a specialty materials plant or any APCI operating plant
Exposure to cost estimation, project engineering and project development
Familiarity using process safety tools and risk analysis
Experience with process modeling a plus.
