Job Description and Qualifications Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, has an immediate opening for a Application Developer/Analyst at our Corporate Headquarters in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
The Application Development group is seeking to fill a developer/analyst role within the Liquid Bulk Development team. This position will support the software and systems in the dynamic Sell/Fulfill Space including LBShell and ERAM. LBShell is Air Products' order management and scheduling tool for the Liquid Bulk Logistics business. ERAM is an electronic remote monitoring application that gathers data from onsite customer product tanks. This is a challenging opportunity to support a custom application using VC++, C#, VB and interfacing with SAP and non SAP applications. There is no doubt that you will learn and build your skills on this team.
Position Summary:
Provide Global IT application expertise for the mission critical Air Products LBShell application suite. An important component of this role is to effectively work with the Air Products business area and SAP ERP Services, so that new/enhanced functionality and application changes can be implemented effectively. Participation in a pager rotation is also required.
Education/Skills/Experience:
- A bachelors degree in a relevant IT or business curriculum with at least 5 years of development/IT project management experience using VC++, C#, .NET, VB and SQL server database
- Functional or technical experience in IT application architecture, design or development
- Able to prioritize and meet milestones when working on multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Application thinking - see big picture and interconnects
- Very good Working knowledge of VC++, .NET, C#, VB, SQL Server
- Strong to expert C++/MFC
- Problem solving skills and aptitude for complex development and support work
Principal Job Responsibilities
- Application Development tasks necessary to maintain and support the suite of LBShell and ERAM applications and environments
- Perform data analysis and manipulation.
- Interface directly with business representatives to aid in design and troubleshooting efforts.
- Contribute strategically on large-scale development projects that expand system functionality.
- Accountable for understanding business requirements and writing functional/technical specs.
