Job Description and Qualifications Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, has an immediate opening for a Sr. Engineering Technician at our Corporate Headquarters in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

The incumbent is responsible for assisting the Engineer/Supervisor/Manager, assuming increasing responsibility as required, in coordinating activities throughout all phases of work related to equipment, plants, operations, products, systems, and procedures to achieve timely, safe, and cost effective project completion. Requirements include working with internal/external customers, as well as suppliers/contractors/fabricators as necessary, to perform and complete tasks. It is essential that the Technician functions as an integral part of the team dedicated to achieving the goals of each project and the organization.

Primary responsibilities include requisitioning of capital equipment, material tracking and consolidation, export shipping, and coordination of project information. The incumbent must work closely with other members of the engineering team, as well as sourcing, manufacturing, construction, and operations.

Principal Accountabilities

Find, learn, apply, and coordinate knowledge of standards, systems, procedures, and work processes.
Coordinate/expedite all work related activities through the use of standardized methods and procedures.
Coordinate and guide the flow of information between various departments to ensure timely work progress by utilizing effective verbal and written communication practices.
Achieve objectives within constraints of time, cost, and performance targets by defining, scheduling, monitoring, documenting, and controlling work effort.
Meet/exceed internal and external customer expectations to achieve service excellence by understanding their requirements and expectations, anticipating their needs, and responding on a timely basis.
Improve the effectiveness of the work team by sharing individual knowledge/expertise and assisting others and making recommendations on processes, methods, and systems.

Qualifications:

* Technical degree preferred, but not mandatory.
* 2-5 years experience in an engineering environment.
* Knowledge of SAP and Marian a plus
* Knowledge of Excel and other basic software reguired.
* Project oriented.
* Well organized in documentation management and task tracking.
* Initiative, assertive and good communication skills.
