Moravian College - Faculty and Administrative positions available!

Moravian College in Bethlehem, PA has many positions open:

Faculty
Assistant Professor Department: EDUCATION
Tenure-track in special education beginning Fall Term 2008
The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in the area of special education and assist the Department in integrating special education throughout its education curriculum. Opportunities to teach in other undergraduate areas, as well as within the graduate program, will also be available. The undergraduate program offers certificates in elementary education (K-6), most areas in secondary education (7-12), and certification in the K-12 areas of art, music, and foreign language.

Assistant Professor Music Education
Responsibilities include: serving as liaison between the Music and Education departments; serving on the Teacher-Education Committee; assisting department in developing relationships with area schools; course load: Teaching Music to Adolescents and Adults with observations (fall), assessing student teacher preparedness (fall), Teaching Music to Children with observations (spring), organize and supervise music student teachers (spring), additional course assignments in area(s) of expertise (improvisation, diatonic harmony, chromatic harmony, musicianship, etc.).

Assistant Professor in German
The Department of Foreign Languages at Moravian College invites applications for a tenure-track position at the level of assistant professor in German. Native or near-native fluency. 3/3 course load, beginning August 2008. Ability to teach a broad range of culture, literature and language courses at all levels in German. The applicant must be willing to teach occasionally courses in English for the general curriculum. Interest in scholarship and interdisciplinary teaching is expected.

Assistant Professor Economics and Business Department
FT Tenure Track, beginning Fall Term 2008
Moravian College has one full-time, tenure track opening in economics at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning in Fall, 2008. The primary field requirement is environmental economics. The candidate will also be expected to participate in teaching an interdisciplinary Introduction to Environmental Studies course. Desirable secondary fields are listed above. Experience with GIS is also a plus.
The normal teaching load of 3 courses per semester includes principles (combined micro/macro) or intermediate microeconomics. Candidates must demonstrate a genuine desire to teach and participate fully in a liberal arts environment. Opportunities exist to develop interdisciplinary courses to support the general education curriculum. Candidates are expected to maintain an active research agenda, for which the college offers excellent support.

Administration
DIRECTOR OF PLANNED GIVING
MORAVIAN College has an immediate opening for a Director of Planned Giving. The Director has the primary responsibility for Moravian College’s planned giving activities. The Director will develop, direct and administer a comprehensive, strategic development program designed to increase the number of planned gifts and bequest expectancies received by the College each year.

PROJECT MANAGER
Department: Facilities Management, Planning & Construction (FMPC)
CLASSIFICATION: AdministrativeFLSA Class: Exempt
SUPERVISON RECEIVED: Director of FMPC/Associate Director of Plant OperationsSUPERVISION EXCERCISED: Architects, engineers, consultants or other outside agencies employed by or associated with the institution. Internal staff, student workers and temporary employees as requiredPOSITION SUMMARY: As a FMPC administrative team member, responsible for the planning, development, analysis, programming, fiscal development and management, project management/coordination and execution of activities related to the processes associated with construction and renovation in a multi-building, non-profit institution. Serves as the representative for a variety of assigned facility and departmental related projects such as small renovation and repair projects, capital renovations, new construction, associated systems and infrastructure e.g. card access, utilities, parking and landscaping.
